'Marginal Voices' has
been created as a result of the Intermittent Sound Group applying for and winning a Millennium
Award from the Community Media Association.
These inventive sound portraits of people with mental health issues or learning difficulties, and are underscored by illustrative, and original soundtracks. The pieces aim to focus positively on this marginalized section of community, empowering those whose voices are rarely heard. The result is a set of sensitive, entertaining, sometimes funny, sometimes touching pieces of audio, to show that this group of people, who are often left on the fringes of our society, share the same joys, worries, and problems as the rest of us. They offer their opinions on varied subjects for example travel, celebrities, life in Brighton, life in the community, what would they change in the world and have proved to be fascinating stories from their diverse lives. |
