Drawn from a variety of skills, occupation and passions including journalism, writing, media production, broadcast and management.
The Board of Directors keep Earshot legal, decent and honest and provide invaluable support, advice and direction for the organisation.
Karen Cass - Director
Karen Cass has worked in radio in both Australia and the UK for over 15 years starting at 2SER FM in Sydney.
Her radio experience ranges from freelance reporting, presenting and production to management (Surf 107.2) sales and promotion (Minds Eye), licence applications (Nomad, RadioReverb), course design and training (2SER FM, City College Brighton and Earshot).
Drawing on her experience of radio in Australia, Karen set up Earshot in 1998 as an industry linked and led training organisation based within what was then Surf 107.2. As managing director, she has since developed Earshot into its own premises and production facilities and has expanded its activities into cross platform sound design, audio-art and its own FM radio station.
As well as radio, Karen has also been involved in management consultancy and brings her experience from both these areas to the operation and vision for Earshot.
Karen is a member of The RadioAcademy, Radio Studies Network and Creative Brighton and sat on Skillset's National Production Standards advisory committee.
